You can’t solve a problem without framing

Problem framing improves overall understanding of the environment you work in, the constraints in place, and the nature of the problem.  It identifies what the executives must accomplish, when and where it must be done and, most importantly, why—the purpose of the strategy.  No amount of subsequent planning can solve a problem insufficiently understood, problem framing is the most important step in planning.
