Your process is sick
Sick patients and processes generate familiar symptoms. A sick patient may feel increasingly fatigued without treatment. The manageable daily tasks in life are left undone. Efforts to treat the symptoms in isolation allow the core problem, an illness, to get progressively worse. A sick patient will produce more sick patients without treatment. Addressing the symptoms in isolation does not solve the core problem. A sick process will produce an overworked staff. Symptoms may include increasingly high turnover, staffing shortages, and decreasing quality. These symptoms cannot be successfully treated without treating the core problem.
